FCV Academy emerged 4-1 winners over Leicester Nirvana in the Total Motion Midland Football League.
The opening period was an even affair, with FCV ‘keeper Kyle De Garis making a smart stop just before the interval.
Goal-less is how it would be as both sides headed for the dressing rooms, despite opportunities for the two teams to break the deadlock.
The visitors got on the front foot after the restart though and, took the lead through Brandon Taverner, who picked the ball up in a deep position, before driving at the home defence and unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
Shortly after, FCV doubled their advantage, as Amir Ajaj slotted in a low cross from the left following good work by Taverner.
Leicester then went in search of a route back into proceedings, but some fine combination play between Khalid Rahim and Ajaj on the counter resulted in FCV grabbing a third.
The deficit would be reduced to 3-1, but Grant Brown’s side had the final say, as Taverner got his second and FCV’s fourth.
It’s a performance to build on, with Coleshill Town next up in the Total Motion Midland Football League on Saturday.
